Ready for the Plethora
The 39th edition of the Montreal International Auto Show (MIAS), taking place January 19 to 28, 2007, promises to dazzle visitors when it features, amongst the other exotic vehicles presented on 7th Heaven, the official launch of the prototype for the first ever Canadian supercar, the 2007 Pléthore, from HTT Locus Technologies.
The Pléthore is the brainchild of Quebec designer Luc Chartrand. "It is nicknamed 'The Quebec bomb' and it is entirely composed of carbon fiber, the very same material used in F-1 cars. Not only does it offer incredible visibility from the central driver position, it also has room for as many as three people up to 6'6" in height each... a true first for this class of vehicle", comments a very impassioned Mr. Chartrand.
With its 750 horsepower engine (standard) or its 1,300 horsepower engine (optional) capable of producing speeds exceeding 330 KPH, and its overall weight of 1,100 kg, the Pléthore is an extremely powerful vehicle as demonstrated by its amazing weight to power ratio. The car retails at about $330,000 CDN and its exotic design is simply breathtaking!

Best of 2006 Technologies
Here's the list of the top 10 Tech Innovations of 2006 which will blow you away...
With only a few months apart after the launch of the Core 2 Duo, Intel unleashes the world's first quad-core desktop CPU into the world based on the same Core microarchitecture and technology as the Core 2 Duo. Whether you look at it as a preemptive strike against AMD's much hyped 4x4 system or just to show that they can, the Core 2 Extreme QX6700 CPU increases Intel's lead over its competition even further.
The PQI U510 Pro is the world's thinnest flash drive that is the size of a credit card and is a mere 3mm thick. However, it packs an amazing storage capacity up to 16GB. The Pro version is actually an update to the original sexy U510, now sporting a blazing 170x transfer speed up to 25MB/Sec.
The Samsung YP-K5 is no ordinary portable MP3 player, it is a venerable boombox in your palm. This diminutive device has an impeccable design and oozes class. Slide out its set of speakers from the back and you can start picking up dropped jaws from the ground. The audio quality, crispness and loudness from its tiny 1.5W drivers are something you have to listen to to believe. This is what you call a real media player.
We honored the Barracuda 7200.9 in our last year's list and this year, its successor makes the grade as well. The tenth generation Seagate Barracuda drive isn't just another new drive with a bigger buffer and internal transfer rate, it is the world's first desktop HDD to use perpendicular writing technology and is also the first drive to hit a whopping 750GB.
Although Dell and Apple widescreen displays have been a hot product for digital entertainment buffs, the ViewSonic WX2025WM is probably the monitor that brought widescreen gaming to a more affordable level. But it's not just about the price. 20-inch widescreen is the sweet spot at the moment for PC LCDs and the WX2025WM has one of the best gaming performance.
The Apple iMacs have always been touted as the best all-in-one computer for Apple fans and wannabes alike. Great looks, great branding, who doesn't love a Mac? But now, the new iMacs armed with Intel Core 2 Duo processors can truly be considered the best all-in-one PC. Yes, they're PCs too, they can run Windows.
One of the best new mobile business platforms to hit the market, the ASUS P525 already has quite a following. While it may not be the most fully featured, this Windows Mobile 5.0 PDA phone has well rounded features with push e-mail, a great design, comfortable build and strong battery life. We actually like the keypad/touchscreen hybrid combination too.
The ASUS PW201 is an interesting and feature-packed entertainment LCD monitor with great display quality and is a winner of an iF design award in 2006. Its slick exterior houses a 20-inch widescreen panel, 1.3MP webcam, stereo speakers, USB hub and an abundance of input connectors including DVI, S-Video and Component. To top it off, the PW201 even has Picture-in-Picture (PIP) capabilities.
There are many qualities about the 24-inch widescreen BenQ FP241W we love to warrant a spot on our Top 100 but the single most important one is its HDCP compliant HDMI port - a world's first and at Full HD resolutions (1080p). This means it's ready for Blu-ray or HD-DVD content as and when you decide it's time to hop onboard the HD bandwagon, be it with your computer or your other C.E devices. It is the real High-Definition (HD) deal but if these technical acronyms don't impress you, we bet its pin sharp maximum resolution of 1,920 by 1,200 pixels will.
The Intel Core 2 Duo processor is a milestone in microprocessor innovation and there is no doubt that with this line of products in 2006, Intel has AMD whipped in both performance and power consumption. Delivering the new Core microarchitecture across the desktop, mobile and server spaces, Intel plans to retake the lead in the CPU race. Bluntly put, The Intel Core 2 Duo is the world's best dual-core desktop processor. There, we've said it.Chepofied by Martian Wordsmith at 10:33 AM 0 comments

Animation Heads for India

Since I've been in 4th i've worked on a computer and had an undisturbed interest from graphics and animation. For a long time people thought my fascination for computer graphics had something to do with the fact that kids like bright colors, lights etc. Surprisingly that wasn't the case, animation and graphics are my passions just as tennis is Andre Agassi's passion. That's why being in the IT industry became one of my mid term targets in life...
And that's the same reason why this news brings a smile of joy to my face. Way back one of my friends asked me what's the future of multimedia and graphics in India and I said "Yarr in 2 years this section of IT will enter the Indian market and will be the biggest buisness bringer in India", Seems it's all set to be true... GOoOo India...

Nokia 888 - The Future's Now
If you people think that the world's come a long way in terms of gadgets get ready to get the shock of your life when you see these pics. The future's here & now. This mobile phone is going to blow you away, let the show begin.

Now, you're not going to see this in stores any time soon. But if you'd like to get an idea of what Nokia thinks the future of communications will look like, take a look at the Nokia 888 communicator, a concept design that recently won Nokia's Benelux design contest. The bracelet-like 888 is envisioned to use a liquid battery, feature speech recognition, a flexible touch screen, and a touch sensitive body cover. A video showing off the device's potential features shows off close to a dozen functions, including an alarm clock, PDA, GPS, phone, push email receiver, digital wallet and, of course, jewelry. And, other than the "liquid battery," we can actually see this in the not-too-distant future. Just give us some full-color E-ink, flexible OLED displays and inkjet-printed circuit boards, and we're almost there.

Google Takes on Another Giant
Google the word itself describes the effect this company is having in all it's competitors, Microsoft, Yahoo and now PayPal... Google is ready to take on one and all. Spreading like an amoeba, most of the world is unaware of the magnitude this company can reach. I wait and watch for the time has come for the next microsoft of this world to emerge...
For now get to know how google's Checkout is stepping into Paypal territory
Traffic on his site more than tripled, and best of all, he said, Google picked up the tab for the promotion.
“I think it’s fantastic,” he said. “I’m selling the product. Google is getting tons of customers to sign up for Checkout. Customers are happy because they are getting a monster deal.”
And Google is not charging merchants any processing fees through the end of 2007.
As a result, getting customers to use Checkout will increase profits, Mr. Grossberg said.
So starting next year, he plans to take some of the money he spends to list items on eBay and try a new marketing strategy: placing ads alongside Google’s search results.
That is exactly what Google wants to hear.
When Google introduced Checkout in June, it was seen as a formidable rival to PayPal, eBay’s online payment service. And with Google aggressively promoting Checkout during the holiday season and beyond, its use with some merchants has already surpassed PayPal’s.
There's more...

Lindsay Lohan Strips
The script of her upcoming movie, “I Know Who Killed Me,” which revolves around a young woman played by Lindsay Lohan, imposed her to learn how to strip like a professional.
Lohan's spokeswoman Leslie Sloane Zelnik confirms to Page Six, "She's been in rehearsals for the film and has been taking classes. Her character is a stripper, and she now realizes that the job isn't easy. We should give these women credit."
The story is focused on Aubrey Fleming (Lohan), a woman who is rescued after being abducted and tortured by a serial killer. When Fleming arrives home she claims to be a different person. This poses questions as to whether she is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder or if something more sinister is afoot.
According to reports, Lohan spent an entire dancing session with Sheila Kelly, developer of the aerobics striptease workout. The 20-year-old actress complained to her friends in a recent e-mail titled “They’re all whores, they’re all whores… xcept for some obviously!” how bad she felt after the training.
"So ... three hours of pole dancing and bruised. Everywhere... I mean we're talkin' like, upper and inner thigh action-bruised... like a walking black-and-blue mark. I mean really though, really, I didn't know it was actually possible to have bruises in such areas of the body. “
“Strippers, dude, I tell you, I really respect [them] now... I'm not gonna lie to you," Lindsay added.
People are beginning to suspect that Lindsay Lohan should fire her agent and try to hire one that isn't a ceaselessly aroused 14-year-old boy. It has only been two months since Lindsay Lohan announced her lesbian sex movie with Keira Knightley, and now she's making a new movie about a stripper.
If things carry on down this road it's only a matter of days before a Lindsay Lohan vehicle about a flight attendant in a tight latex dress who fights an alien invasion off only with her tits is announced. Let's hope so anyway, because that script took us bloody hours to write.
